Increase Testing for Infection AND Antibody, and Fast Track Treatment Options

  • The more tests that we can perform, the better we can manage infection clusters, as well as reducing the public’s fear by showing a more accurate hospitalization and mortality rate for the infected

  • We need to have antibody tests to show who has already contracted and recovered from the virus, and those who have antibody can go back to work. This is especially important in the service sector where there is high interpersonal interactions

  • Countries that have managed the pandemic well, like Singapore and South Korea, have developed treatment strategies through antivirals like hydroxychloroquine, antibiotics like azithromycin for secondary infections, and immunosuppressant drugs to treat cytokine storm. The US needs to follow their best practices for treatment and fast track repurposing of those drugs as a viable vaccine is at least a year away
